Hello Stephanie
This is TrayIcon Pro feature.
(Probably you have inadvertantly used this function. Could you please inform us if it`s not true.)
You can change desktop icons condition (hide/show) using function "Hide Desktop icons" (you can find corresponding control element in dialogue "General Properties -> Page Advanced" or in main
(context) menu of TrayIcon Pro).

Hi Sergey,
I have checked the general properties and the option to hide desktop icons is NOT enabled. So there`s still a problem somewhere.
Thanks,
Stephanie

Hello Stephanie
Please do the following:
check (uncheck) "Hide DeskTop icons" control element in "General Properties...-> Page Advanced" dialogue and click OK button. What happenes?
Has DeskTop icons state changed? Try restarting TrayIcon Pro. What happenes with DeskTop icons in this case? Does Desktop icons state remain the same and correspond to the setting of TP?
What version of operation system you use?
Best regards,
Sergey Kovrizhkin

Somehow I think I got it to work. I think I might have unchecked the box, rebooted, then checked the box again. Anyway, it might be good to look at the code to see if you can make it work better. I use WinXP Pro SP1.
There is no icons on my desktop by default (Arrange Icons By|Show Desktop Icons is unchecked).
TrayIcon has the same option set (Hide Desktop icons).
When i exit TrayIcon then destop icons appear.
There is a need for TrayIcon to keep and return desktop`s initial state.

Dear OkhsuS,
You can control "Hide Desktop icons" feature from dialog User Interface (General Properties - Page Advanced - Settings: User Interface - Hide DeskTop icons) or by main menu of TrayIcon Pro - Hide/Show Desktop icons item.

But the problem is that TrayIcon doesn`t care about previous desktop state after exit.
Sample:
1. There are no icons on desktop (by desktop`s context menu)
2. Starting TrayIcon (set to hide icons)
3. Desktop is clean
4. Closing TrayIcon
5. Icons appearing.
6. I need to hide it through desktop`s context menu again (moreover do it twice as option Show Desktop Icons is unchecked, i.e. there are no icons de jure and there are de facto)

Dear OkhsuS,
The Hide/Show Desktop icons item in main menu of TrayIcon Pro is used for dynamic change of desktop icons status and do not change/save global settings of TrayIcon Pro.
In your case, it is necessary to switch off Hide Desktop icons feature at User Interface dialog (General Properties - Page Advanced - Settings: User Interface - Hide DeskTop icons) and then click on "OK" button to apply settings.
In extreme case you can change the string <property tag="9106" data="0"/> in tp.tdf file and set data to "0" (to show desktop icons).
Note: Create a backup copy of tp.tdf file before modifying.

But the matter is that you will get all yor hidden desktop icons after starting & closing TrayIcon. Independently of any TrayIcon`s preferences. I guess it`s not correct.
If icons were not on desktop before then they shouldn`t appear after.
Just try Sample above.
Stephanie has lost icons.
I don`t want to see them at all : )

Dear OkhsuS,
I have understood that you mean.
We will try to expand this feature (as you suggested).
Thank you for your suggestions.
