Repeated entries

My Startup program starts "msnmsgr" ( Windows Live Messenger) each time I boot. I remove the cvheck, because I don't want it started, but the next time it boots SO adds the item and places a check in the box. I currently have 6 instances of "msnmsgr" in the list.
How do I prevent this from happening?

It looks like MSN Messenger adds itself automatically to startup configuration all the time. Please try to exit MSN Messenger first and then remove the entry in Startup Organizer. Would this help?

i tried every combination of starting/stopping MSN messenger I could. It still insinuates itself at startup.
In the registry ./...CURRENT USER/RUN..... Guess I'll talk to the manufacturer.

You can try to stop it using Startup Organizer or using Windows Task Manager - Processes tab (Ctrl+Shift+Esc key). And then remove this entry in Startup Organizer.
