How to Download re-directed files from ...sites.googlegroups.com
|Muhammad Tasneem||09/20/2012 08:24 am|
|I have try to download "http://www.rmprepusb.com" website completely but it does not download its files. Mostly files are present at "http://www.rmprepusb.com/documents/release-2-0" and "http://www.rmprepusb.com/documents/rmprepusb-beta-versions" and every file end with "?attredirects=0&d=1" or "attredirects=0"
When click on link this goes to ....-sites.googlegroups.com/..... link with random code
Even I have click "Download the missing link now and add it to the selected Project." and download the file but it does not appear when I go back again click the link.
Please guide me what should I do?

|I made it in a simple way - opened the Project Properties dialog - File Filters - Archives section and allowed to be downloaded from any site in the Location box.

I use your solution and it download all files but it does not change/convert the online link so everytime when I click on the link it open "Document not found" page and give me the two options (as usual)
1- "Click here to go online:" and
2- "Download the missing link now and add it to the selected Project."
so now what can I do to convert link from online to offline (downloaded file).

|I made a new Project with the URL:
Set Level to 1, allowed Archives to be loaded from any site and downloaded it. All links worked well offline when I browsed it inside Offline Explorer.
Did you use the latest 6.4 version?

"I made a new Project with the URL: http://www.rmprepusb.com/documents/release-2-0
Set Level to 1, allowed Archives to be loaded from any site and downloaded it. All links worked well offline when I browsed it inside Offline Explorer."
I do again as you mention, all files download and links work offline when I browsed it inside Offline Explorer except the "download" links (archives files).
When I click on it "Document not found " page appears.
I am using Portable Offline Browser 6.4.3842

|Can I ask you to make backup of the Project (Tools - Backup) and upload the .boe file to some file sharing service? I would see what happens here.
Sorry that I cannot reproduce it myself.

|I loaded the first file and it appeared to be just Project settings, with no downloaded files. Can you start its download and when it completes, make the backup? It should be 21-22 MBs.
I made a download of your Project and all links again worked well.

|Now I really upset....but I need never giveup!
1 I download new fresh copy of POB.
2- Install on my hard disk.
3- Create new project as you mention above.
4- Wait to download complete.
5- Browse my project in POB.
6- Same result (Document not found).
7- Backup complete project (21MB).
8- Upload on mirrorcreter site for your reference Here is the link:

|I think, the problem is the length of filenames and Windows doesn't allow to create them. This is why shorter final files are there, but longer with attachauth= are not.
Can you install POB to some short directory, like c:\POB\ ?
|Muhammad Tasneem||09/28/2012 01:11 am|
|Yes....! You got it.
Now its working. Thanks a lot for your support.

|Just for information!
Is there any possibility to add "convert long name into short" feature? I am using "Total Commander Ultima Prime" File manager which can't restrict by this limitation.
|Oleg Chernavin||09/29/2012 07:05 am|
|Yes, you can select the Project and click the Export Files button. This feature allows to convert to Joliet (64-symbols) or even DOS (8+3) filenames.
