I found that the latest 5.9 version of Portable Offline Browser seem not be able to save any changes to the URL substitution rules. I added a rule to an old project and found the rule disappear even if clicking OK and save the changes a while later.

I tried to reproduce this, but the added rule was saved correctly. Can you please make two tests:
1. Open Properties - Parsing - URL Substitutes. Add a rule. Click OK button. And click URL Substitutes again.
Would the rule stay there?
2. If yes, click OK and OK again to close Properties dialog. Now click Properties again - URL Substitutes and see if the rule is still there?

Two yeses to both the two questions. It occurs only occasionally. Another problem that sometimes occurs is that usually when you open a project after downloading. The name of the project will not be in bold print anymore. But sometimes restarting POB can cause some of the settings to what it was a day before (that is, the projects opened today is again in bold print).

It looks like something is wrong with the Project save place and it reverts to a backup saved copy of the webdown.dat file on the next start. Do you run it from USB device or from hard disk?
Oleg.

I run it from my harddisk.

I can make a version that logs what happens during writes of the webdown.dat file to the disk. This may show me what exactly happens. Would you agree to try this test logging version?
Oleg.

That's OK. But I'm not sure if or when it will occur again.

Here is the updated oe.exe file:

If it is unable to save the Projects correctly, it will show an error message on exit. Please press Ctrl+C on the message to copy it to clipboard and then paste to the forum message for me.
Thank you!
Oleg.

Thank you. But what I'm using is POB

	Oh, sorry!

Thank you for helping me to understand what is wrong!
