I want to download the following file:

javascript:infoWinPop2(`/common/jsp/stream_pdf.jsp?contentType=application/pdf&relativeDocPath=/share/pdf/products/prospectus/annual/105p.pdf`);

From the following page:

http://www.franklintempleton.com/retail/jsp_app/products/prospectus_view.jsp?familyID=1&name=Franklin

Is there anyway to do this? All I get are files that return `%pdf-` errors when I try to view them offline.

Scott,

These links point to a redirector file that submits a form to get the PDF - please try to allow HTML Forms processing to follow these form-based links.

I have tried that but it is not making a difference. Here is what I see happening. This is a link that OEP downloaded:

www.franklintempleton.com\common\jsp\stream_pdf.jsp@contentType=application_2Fpdf&relativeDocPath=_2Fshare_2Fpdf_2Fproducts_2Fprospectus_2Fannual_2F112p.pdf

The link that I need downloaded is:

www.franklintempleton.com\common\jsp\stream_pdf.jsp?contentType=application%2Fpdf&relativeDocPath=%2Fshare%2Fpdf%2Fproducts%2Fprospectus%2Fannual%2F112p.pdf

Notice in the link that was downloaded into OEP the ? was changed to an @ and the % was changed to a _. I have tried every combination of settings I can think of but this is still happening. How do I fix it?

Offline Explorer cannot save a file with a name that contains ? symbol - the filesystem doesn`t accept them at all in filenames. This is why some symbols have to be replaced.

So then does this mean that OEP will not work at all for any pdf files that I need to download that have a ? in the url?

Is there any way to work around this?

No, the PDF files will work and Offline Explorer not only replaces symbols in downloaded filenames - it also corrects all links, so they point to the correct files on your disk. So, it should not give you any problem.

Well that is the problem. The pdf files are not working. They are not even being downloaded. I have tried changing a number of settings to get them to work but they still don`t. I am going to copy my project and paste it hear for you to look at. Maybe you will see something that I can change to make this work. I have set the project to download everything on the page and it does not work. After the download is complete, when I click on one of the files to browse them, I get an error message stating that the file does not begin with %pdf.

Please increase the Project level to 2 - this should allow Offline Explorer to process the form with the link to PDF files.

I set the level limit to two and I am still having the exact same problem. After I run the project, the file names show up when I select edit, find content. But when I try to browse one of the PDF files I get the same error message that the file name does not begin with %pdf.

Did you try to browse inside Offline Explorer Pro?

Yes I am browsing inside OEP.

Sorry. I missed that the server reports different filenames for the PDF files and Offline Explorer creates simple HTML redirector files to point to them. To overcome this, please add the following line to the Project`s URLs field:

Add=SkipDisposition

Then redownload the Project.

I have added Add=SkipDisposition and I am still having the exact same problem. I have copied and pasted the project here again for you to look at.

Still having the exact same problem. When I try to browse the files after download, I get an error message saying that the file does not begin with %pdf.

Can you please erase all previously downloaded files from the disk and download it again? I made a test download using your Project settings and it worked well.

I have been doing that each time and still having the problem. I did try something different that works. I tried to open the files in teh download folder with Adobe instead of going through the OEP browser or through IE. I can open the files with Adobe directly, so there has to be something about the browser. Is there a setting that I can change to solve this problem?
Oleg Chernavin

I don`t know - the Internal Browser is simply an embedded MS IE window. Please let me know how PDF file names look like when you open them with Adobe?

GWSFileServingServlet.dyn@contentType=application_2Fpdf&relativeDocPath=_2Fshare_2Fpdf_2Fproducts_2Fprospectus_2Fannual_2F101p

This is a file name that is showing up when I open the file directly in Adobe.
Oleg Chernavin

It looks absolutely correct. Offline Explorer should pass the same file to Adobe. Another thing to try is to uncheck the Internal HTTP server in Options. Would this change the behavior?

Oleg.
