Downloaded site ok from OE, but broken when exported

Hello,

I have downloaded a site that displays ok from within OE (using the built-in, local web server), but, when exported, some parts are not displayed (the top menu) when opened direclty from the folder.

I assume there is some need to use a web server in order to display correctly; the question is, if I upload the exported files to a remote web server, will the site work ok as with the built-in one? Do the remote web server have to be configured in a special way?

Thanks for your help.

Andres

There is an easier way - export to a compressed EXE file and it will contain both the internal server and browser.

Hello Oleg,

Thanks for your quick answer.

The .exe solution is not very good for us, as we need to translate the files for a client and then send again the localized version to them.

We will do a test uploading the files to a remote web server and let you know if have any issues. Do you think this will work? I mean, the OE built-in web server is different from a regular hosted web server?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Oleg,

The upload site breaks when uploaded to a remote hosted web server; any suggestions about the parameters for exporting the files and the setup parameters for the remote web server? Thanks.

Best regards,

Can you please give me the address of the page that is broken on export and explain what exactly happens on it. Perhaps, I will be able to improve the export code.

Upload - try to export to some directory without adding extensions and changing filenames and then upload that directory to the remote server.

Oleg.
