Hi there
I'm getting a problem where OE pro regularly freezes. My project is set to notify completion via Task tray icon and email. Some downloads never get to this point. Typically the download queue is zero , parcing is not zero, the tray icon still rotates and the project shows the green download arrow icon. The ribbon is live etc. Sometimes I will get a memory error, which I will clear but this does not resolve the problem or crash the program. The only way I end the download is to exit the program. Typically I'm downloading 750 sites around 1 - 2 GB less than 100,000 files. here's the project settings minus the site list. Any help would be most welcome. As I understand, the program user interface is not frozen and you can see the download, stop it manually, etc.
If so, I would suggest you to set a limited numver of retries in the Internet tab of the Ribbon. Say, 10. Best regards, Oleg Chernavin MP Staff |

Oleg Hi
I will try that but just to be clear although the ribbon buttons were active I could not stop the download as the stop button did not appear to have any effect at all. The only way I was able stop the down was by exiting the program via the icon tray. After further investigation I found 1 site was creating an enormous number of folders 57000 !! resulting from some kind of looping url eg xxx/yyy/zzz/xxx/yyy/zzz/xxx/zzz. If I eliminated that site all from the download all was well. I've had to delete the data so I can't provide any more detail but if I encounter the problem again I will provide more information. Thanks again for your help. Andy |

Offline Explorer has protection from such looping URLs. But it looks that it has to be improved. If you would face such issue again, please let me know. It would be good to fix.
Thank you! Oleg. |
