|I downloaded a web site, started at night, in morning still running. So I paused it. Then the system went 'blank'. No programs or docs in start menu. SO I try to restart computer and I get this message:
<Winnt_root>\System32\Hal.dll missing or corrupt:
Please re-install a copy of the above file.
Before running the project I set the location to save to an external drive. But it still saved on C drive.
Not sure if any of this is connected but this is what happened. Any suggestions on how to fix the corrupt file or why still saving in C drive. My C drive is getting full so I tried redo project on external drive.
Main thing is to get my computer working again though.

|Can you please tell me how did you set it to download to the external drive? Using the Project Properties dialog?
Offline Explorer still uses your temporary drive on C:\ disk. However it is not filled up - once a file ends downloading, it gets moved to the final destination, nothing should be left there.
There are several articles on how to deal with the HAL.dll issue:
I hope they will help to recover from this situation.
