Looking to add a previously archived site to Offline Explorer Pro...

Hi,

I am trying to archive web sites which contain important project documents for our website. When the projects are completed, the website is taken offline so we cannot access it anymore. So the purpose of using Offline Explorer Pro is to save an offline version of the project website before it goes offline, and then link it in to our website so that users can still access the important documents.

My issue is that I have a previously downloaded project website (in the form of html folders and files) which has already gone offline so I cannot add it as a project as there is no URL address for it.

How do I add this as one of my offline web sites so that it will appear on the list of projects for users to browse through the external URL? I tried to just copy the archived website directory to the download directory to see if it was that simple, but it didn''t work... it obviously needs a project id to show up on the projects.htm web page?

Would really appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance...

Can you tell me how did you archived the Web site? Was it downloaded with Offline Explorer and then exported?

Hi Oleg,

No it was not archived with Offline Explorer - the administrator of the project website sent us a .rar file with all the web pages after it had gone offline. It is a small website (59 MB) - mainly asp web pages and some mdb files...

Thanks,
Mala

I see. In fact, this is the Web site source code. Since it is ASP and database files, you will need to install Microsoft IIS Web Server on your computer and unpack the files to its serverroot directory.
