Download for upload

I have used Offline Explorer Pro successfully to download many sites.

I now have to transfer a site from one host to another. When I download all seems fine but when I upload to the new host all the external links are prefaced with (part of?) the location on the local machine and so do not work. Is there a simple way to download then upload to different host?

Thanks

Yes, you will need to download this site with Online Links Translation (Project Properties - Links Translation section). If you use export to prepare the site for upload, make sure you check the "Preserve online links" box in the Export dialog.

Thanks Oleg
That seems clear for download.
In the Export there is an additional tick box
"Add original url to html files"
It is ticked by default.
Should this be unticked if uploading a downloaded site as I hope to do.

It doesn''t matter much. It only adds a comment in the file beginning with the original file URL.

Hello Oleg

I have tried as you suggest but still external links remain in the form ../../../www.examplesite.com and so unusable. I have tried export and not export and Dreamweaver / Filezilla.
The site I am downloading is www.juniorscience.ie. It is based on a cms: which may be the difficulty?

Thanks for your help.

I made a small download of this site with Level=1 and Online Links Translation. The link on the first page was pointing to the correct location - http://www.education.ie/.

Can you redownload the first page to see what happens?

Thanks Oleg

All now working fine.
Problem was related to some other download settings combined with the translation issue
If download site only with translation works well.

Great to get timely support

All the best
