problems with upgrade to Pro

Hi.

I am a long time user of previous versions.

On my "new" laptop, I loaded the demo basic version and have been using it, planning to register and pay when it runs out.

Then I figured out that I was running into the limitation on the number of files in a folder. So I went ahead and purchased the Pro version and tried to install it directly over the basic version (I know. . . .).

So I started getting "access violation at address 006c4c8e in module "oe.exe" read of address 00000060. When I click okay, I get "OE.exe has generated erros and will be closed . .

I tried unintalling and reinstalling in a different folder. I tried the beta version in the other thread.

Thanks,

Dan

If it matters, Windows 2000 latest upgrade.

Can you please try this version?

Would it work correctly?

Sorry, still the same error. I have run a registry cleaner and done a virus scan and found nothing that should effect this.

Can you tell me what should be done to reproduce the error? Does it happen when you download something or stop the download? Does this happen with some particular sites?

Oleg.

It happens immediately when I try to open the software.

I get the splash screen, and then the error. It never gets to the point of loading the screen.

Sorry, should have said that to start with.

Can you please see the location of Projects, Maps and Templates in the Options dialog - File Locations. Then rename that folder with Windows Explorer. Start Offline Explorer. This will show us if loading Projects is the problem or not.

Oleg,

The error happens before you can change the file locations. You just get the opening splash screen and then the error.

I tried renaming the old download folder and putting a new one in its place. No change.

Thanks,

Dan

Can you please try this version or updated oe.exe file (just replace the old one with it):

http://www.metaproducts.com/download/betas/oep2685.zip

Would it start correctly? If yes, can you please contact me via support@metaproducts.com ?
