General problem with browsing downloaded files

I'm testing Offline Explorer v4.5.2532.

Have downloaded 2 websites:
1) http://nfs.sparknotes.com/macbeth/
After downloading, the website is not displayed in the browser neither in the integrated browser nor in Firefox. Firefox displays in the status bar: "Waiting on 127.0.0.1...
In the URL-Field, there is displayed "http://127.0.0.1:800/Standard/nfs.sparknotes.com/macbeth/default.htm"
Then nothing happens furthermore - i have to cancel the loading process.

2) Second Website i tried is: http://www.rebel66.de/airaxes/
(URL-Field in Firefox: http://127.0.0.1:800/Standard/www.rebel66.de/airaxes/index.html)

Any ideas what's going wrong?

Best regards
Andy

Do you run a firewall? If so, is OE allowed access on port 800 (in and out) for 127.0.0.1 (also called localhost)?

When you say you tested in a external browser, did you open one of the downloaded files, or did you try to access the same address as the internal one displayed?
If you did the latter, check out my first question..

The above would be the first possible reasons I can think of.

I'm just a user of the same prog as you though..

If you tried to access the internal webserver from the browser (as you seem to based on your statements) and you have a firewall, do FF also have access to port 800 outbound?

Hmm...
I have no software firewall running, because my DSL (Internet) connection is via a router which has a hardware firewall.

Tried to acces the same adress. Have opened it via right click on the project name and then "open with - Firefox". If i open the downloaded file within Firefox via "File - Open", then all works fine. Then Firefox shows the following URL: file:///E:/Offline%20Explorer/Download/nfs.sparknotes.com/macbeth/default.htm

How can i check, if maybe port 800 is the problem? As told - i have no software firewall running...

Addition:
I cannot access the URL: http://127.0.0.1/ within Firefox.
Is there something wrong with the "localhost-configuration"?

Addition:
The problem is the "internal HTTP-Port". If i disable this setting, then browsing is working - with the internal browser or withz firefox. But the disadvantage is, that in this case no "Home-Page" (with "common tags", "browse the list of existing projects"...) is present.

So i have to configure the internal HTTP-Port. But how to do this?

There are two possible reasons:

1. There is a proxy server setting in your Web browser and you should setup the browser to bypass proxy for 127.0.0.1:800.

2. There is a personal firewall that blocks internal server of Offline Explorer when it gets started. In this case, please look at the firewall settings to allow all access for Offline Explorer.

Strange situation.
Have checked the settings within the windows firewall and opened port 800 - even if the firewall is not active. If i activate the internal HTTP-Port an browse with firefox with url: http://127.0.0.1:800, then overview (summary) of the project is displayed. If i click on "browse the list of existing projects" first the white background changes to a colored background (with Metacreations Watermark), then a page a page is diplayed with the item "Standard". Clicking on Standard, a page with the downloaded web pages is appearing. Clicking on a web page again after first click the white background changes to a colored background (with Metacreations Watermark), then the detail page of the project is displayed. But after clicking on the "browse the project offline" then the browser hangs...

What happens if you simply select the Project and click Browse? It looks like the 800 port is working and not blocked anymore.

Does not work. Waiting for 127.0.0.1 .....

So, if you enter http://127.0.0.1:800/, FireFox opens the page, and if another page on the same server - it fails?
