asf streams

Hi!
I notice that when I download asf streams via mms OR even just downloadable asf files via OE, the asf file is not indexed and is unseekable in most media players..
When I download the file manually, it IS seekable..

Is this a problem with OE or something?

Can you please give me a link to a downloadable ASF file that is not seekable after Offline Explorer downoad? I will check what is wrong. Thank you!

A few weeks ago, I was able to get the stream but it was not seekable..
Now, I am unable to get the stream at all..

However, I figured that if I were to use HiDownload or Net Transport and point directly to rtsp://live-vip-49.nus.edu.sg/ALL_PublicEvent/WebcastEventVideo/Yr2006/healthcareseminar_20061128-150k.wmv , I would be able to get the stream correctly..

hmm. Is it a bug in OE?

And does Offline Explorer Pro load the RTSP link?

Hmm.. I don't think it loads the link somehow..

You might wan tto try it for yourself.. This one is about 30 minutes and shoudl nto take too long to try and download..

There are 2 issues here I think..
Firstly, if I use VPN to log in, I am able to download the video.. However, there is no indexing and autoseeking when I open the downloaded stream in Windows Media Player 11.

Secondly, if I DON'T use VPN, I am UNABLE to download the video at all..

However, if I were to use other software such as HiDownload or Net Transport, I am able to download the video regardless if I use VPN Or not..

Do look into it.. Seems like 2 bugs which OE needs to fix?

Offline Explorer loads the link well:

mms://live-vip-49.nus.edu.sg/ALL_PublicEvent/WebcastEventVideo/Yr2006/cultures%20of%20creativity_20061108-150K.wmv

The indexing is a problem, which still has to be fixed. However it is not an HTTP link. You said that there are HTTP videos where Offline Explorer also loads non-indexed movies. This should not be so. Perhaps only because you view them via the Internal HTTP server of Offline Explorer. If you watch them from the disk, this should work well.

Hmm.. I see. Thanks..

Any idea when this will be fixed? Cause I seen a thread about 2-3 years ago regarding the same problem saying this is one of the TODO List.. :)

Thus, was wondering if this feature will be added anytime soon?
