Sites not downloading

Oleg,

I'm having peculiar problems with sites not downloading. Recently I had some Microsoft automatic updates including IE 7.

I use Firefox 1.5XXX. In my experimentation I've found that changing the identification under options seems to allow downloading. For example, I've changed the identification from Offline Explorer Pro 4.5 to Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Sometimes, on the other hand, I need to change it the other way around. Most frustrating and annoying.

In addition I now get messages saying Offline Explorer's needs more privileges. God bless Mr. Softy and keep him far from me!

I would appreciate some guidance on the settings; I also plea that one of the identifications should include Firefox, as that browser continues to gather market share.

OK. I added FireFox to the list of user agents.

Regarding the priveledges - which Windows you are using - XP or Vista? Maybe it is a kind of personal firewall that blocks the access?

Oleg,

Windows XP. I do not have a personal firewall, except for the built in Windows firewall. I have a router, which I've used for several years with no problems. It is definitely the software, either XP, or OEP, or something Firefox does.
