I installed OE pro, created some projects, and then backed up the projects, templates, and maps directory. Then I uninstalled OE pro and re-istalled it and created some projects. My question is how can I merge the current projects, templates, and maps directory with the backed up one?

Well, there is no easy way to do this, unless you used Offline Explorer`s backup feature. In this case you simply can restore using the Tools menu. If you used another backup, you will probably have to backup all existing Projects in Offline Explorer - using its own Tools | Backup. Then restore other Projects with the external backup tool. And then use Offline Explorer`s Tools | Restore to append previous projects.

Couldn`t you just edit the webdown.dat file and cut-n-paste one webdown.dat into the other? I seem to remember from prior posts that you suggested this approach when trying to merge/share multiple project files.

Yes, it is possible, but if two Projects have the same ID number, then map files should be renamed as well. It might be too complex for some people.
