Muliple Sequencers

Is it possible to have mutliple schedulers?

I want to have projects sheduled to run one after another in sequencer, but each day the list of projects will be different.

ie, on Mondays, projects `a` then `b` then `c` and Tuedays projects `d` then `e` then `f`.

At the moment it seems I have to delete the Monday projects from the sequencer and then add the Tuesday ones. I would rather just have this set up to download auctomatically.

Unfortunately the nature of these projects means I cannot just simply schedule the projects - sequencer is necessary.

It is impossible to have multiple sequencers now, but I can add the ability to save/load sequencer lists to/from a file. Would this work for you?

Hi Oleg,

It sounds possible - could this be somehow automated? I am just wondering how it would be done.

For example, if there are already projects in the sequencer? Could a list of projects be automatically loaded and at the same time remove previous projects from the sequencer?

Could this be done either/both from the command line? Would it be done from a project settings such as an `additional` parameter or something similar to a `runbefore` command?

Thanks,

Tony.

I think, using command-line is possible. You would specify a filename there to load to the sequencer. Also, there will be Save/Load buttons in the Sequencer.

Hello Oleg,

Sounds good. Would this be loaded from a text file or an Offline Explorer project file?

I know you are working hard (as always), but any idea on a time frame?

Many thanks,

Tony.

This should be a text file with some new extension. What are your requirements for the time frame?

Hello Oleg,

If you could put something together by the end of the week so I can try things out over the weekend, that would be great. Does that fit in with you ok?

Many thanks,

Tony.

OK. I just added it - you can either press Ctrl+S or Ctrl+L in the Sequencer window to save/load files or right-click there. Specifying a .soe file in the command line will load the sequence:

oe.exe "c:\dir\file1.soe"

Here is the updated oe.exe file:

Hello Oleg,

Thank you again. A couple of points though.

1. I wasn`t sure how to try from the command line as I couldn`t find the path to this version.

2. It seems the sequence won`t automatically start once it is loaded? (otherwise I need to start the sequence manually anyway)

3. Is it possible for the sequence to be removed from the sequencer automatially once it is finished? (otherwise I need to remove the files manually or they would still be there when the next project loads).

4. Not sure if this is an easier solution - but I suppose if it were possible to run multiple instances of Offline Explorer Pro it would be possible to run multiple sequencers?

Many thanks,

Tony.

Just click Start, go to Run and type:

oe.exe "c:\path to the file\file.soe"

Yes, you will have to run the sequence manually, but I can add the flag to run it automatically.

Hello Oleg,

OK, I see. I was looking for the path to version 3.9 but couldn`t find it - but that is unnecessary as the program opens automatically by clicking on the .soe file.

I see when a sequence loads the previous one is automatically deleted which is perfect.

At the moment the sequencer opens in suspended mode, so yes, if at all possible I would like the sequence to start automatically.

Then everything will be great.

Many thanks,

Tony.

I did the change. Now the loaded Sequence (using the command-line) will automatically start executing.

That`s great news Oleg,

Do I need another link to download from?

Also, will this overwrite version 3.8?

Many thanks,

Tony.

OK - took a guess and found it:

http://www.metaproducts.com/download/betas/oep2070.ZIP

Doesn`t overwrite 3.8 though. Should it?

Many thanks,

Tony.

OK. This link contains the update now:

http://www.metaproducts.com/download/betas/oep2070.ZIP

Just unzip the file and replace the old oe.exe file with the new one.
