timestamp in filenames

Is there a way to include a timestamp in each downloaded file ?

What I mean is a way to have e.g. timstamp string in front of the actual file name, like
2005.06.27.somefile.ext

I noticed that, but that does not work for the most currently saved version of the pages if I understand the options correctly.

Yes, it names copies this way. If you need to rename all files according to that option, please try URL Substitutes.
