Downloads to nonexistent drive without any warning or error

I changed my download drive letter from L: to M: and forgot about it, when I open OE and started download, it downloaded several hours to nonexistent drive L:
and I indeed didn`t find any downloaded files on any of my existing drives.

So how it can be that OE didn`t say that something is wrong?

Yes, it is true. But how I should warn the user? I don`t like to show a warning message box, because it is not good in automated downloads. Should Offline Explorer stop the download and show an error icon on the Status Bar? Is it enough? This is how Offline Explorer acts now if it is low on the disk space.

I can understand you not wanting to show a warning message on automated downloads. However, can you not show a modeless dialog warning. This would not affect automated downloads, but would give the user an immediate warning that something was not right. As with the example given, Why bother continuing with a download which is not actually being saved.

What do you think ?

In any way, the download will be stopped if this kind of situation happens. I would just display the warning as a blinking error icon on the Status Bar. Clicking the icon will show the error message in a dialog.

Is it fine?

This would be satifactory, but I have a question:

What happens if you are downloading multiple projects simultaneously, and there is more than one error ? Will OE show the first error, last error, or all errors ?

BTW, is it possible to get e-mail notifications when someone replies to a post on the forum ?

OE will stop only the Project that has the disk problem. All errors can be seen in the Log Window (Ctrl-W). OK. I will add this now.

Yes, we will work on that soon.

Thanks!
Maybe some immediate notification in the status bar will help too, i mean when user hits download button, he should see in the status bar: "can`t download to nonexistent drive" or something.

Defenestration, you r stealing my ideas ;)
I just wanted to ask for the same.
And if we already raised the forum issue than it would be very helpful to add Author column next to each post, like on the following site:

Yes, there will be a yellow blinking icon.
