How can you tell Offline Explorer Pro 2.9 to get the entire site, without saying how many levels? Only get the web site, not third party link sites etc. Say it`s www.apple.com and they have streaming media plus images and links to their products etc. I`d want the whole www.apple.com except links to other web sites. They`d have links to say www.mysite.com and so forth like crazy. to other products etc. I would want just www.apple.com, the whole thing and all streaming media, images and so forth. Would love to browse the site offline at my own lesiure time, :)

And with regards to the streaming media/video, how would you go about saving it since quicktime or windows media player won`t give you the save as option even tho it`s on yer hard drive. Like I`d be at a page that has a streaming media file on it. this being once the site is downloaded. then I`d stream it and it`s local, :) but how could i save it like to another location or even put it on a cd etc just the video file?

One other thing I forgot to mention is some streaming media might be off another url, but from the main site, so how would I get those downloaded as well?

One thing I noticed is the web site in question i suppose has a bandwidth limitation that if you exceed their limits they automatically send you a new log in and not knowing what those limits are, how would I work around this? this is a site with a members section. So I could stay under. My guess is limit the connections from 10, change it to 1 and say maybe a 3 or 5 second wait time in between each request or something. I wouldn`t necessarily want to limit the download speed, allthough I guess I cold change it from no setting to maybe 50kbyte per second or something.

Is there also a way to tell how long it will take to get the whole project? If not would it be possible to add a feature to do this? cus i don`t know how long it wil take. and is there a way and if not, that OE pro would tell me how big the project will be? maybe it could look on the site and do a check before hand and then give me an estimate of how big it`ll be, like it would have to see all files and links, their sizes on the server then tell me the total. this be one cool feature.

And on that fact, could I say stop to download, wait till the next day or something and then resume it to finsih the web site? start where it left off and if so how?

one last thing. where`s all the documentation? are there pdf files i could load and print and if not could you guys please make all the help and documentation into pdf files we could print please?

Thanks and I`m sorry for alll these questions, i just installed for the first time the app like yesterday and it seems complicated for a complete noob, :)

Dear Joe,

Thank you for asking.

First, to load a complete site, please create a new Project (click New button on toolbar), enter the desired site URL and uncheck Level setting. Now, go to URL Filters | Server section in the same window and select "Load only from the starting server".

If you want to have video files to be loaded from any place, go to File Filters | Video and select "Load from any site" in the Location box. I would recommend you to do the same with Images and Audio in File Filters as well.

Do not forget to click OK button when you finish making changes in the Project Properties dialog.

Regarding Web site limitations - frankly, different sites behave differently and some limit total amount of megabytes, some - number of links you follow, some - have hidden links, which trigger and automatic logoff, etc. I would suggest you to try different ways.

Regarding estimated time - frankly, there is no way to calculate it, because Web sites do not report number of files on them, their cumulative size, etc. Sorry.

To stop and resume download I would recommend you to use the Suspend To File feature in the Download menu. It will stop the download and record download state in the specified file. Double-click the file when you want to resume from the stop point.

Or you can simply stop downloading. When you want to continue, click the small down arrow next to the Download button on Toolbar - choose "Download Missing Files" there.

Regarding documentation - we are working on it. Right now I can provide you with the current Help File in MS Word format (.RTF). You will be able to print it.

I hope this helps.

Ronnie,

Can you please explain me what goes wrong in 2.9 version? How I could reproduce the problem? I will do my best to solve the issue quickly.

Thank you!

Oleg.
