downloaded wmv (asx) file has audio but no video

Hello,

I'm using OEE 4.4 and when I download the following wmv (asx) link, I get a file on my hard drive that contains the audio, but no video.

Here is the link:
http://www.fednet.net/asx/mg/MG101306.asx

I've also tried the direct mms link, but it gives the same result:
mms://www.fednetvideo.net/CPF/MG/mg101306.wmv

Any ideas on this one? I can play this link over the Internet in my browser. Why is the file downloaded by OEE different than the one that plays in my browser?

Thanks for any help!

Can you please try with MMST protocol:

mmst://www.fednetvideo.net/CPF/MG/mg101306.wmv

Would this help?

Hello Oleg,

Thank you for your reply!

I tried this url, but I got the following response from OEE:
"Connection to host www.fednetvideo.net failed."

Do you have any other ideas?

Thanks a lot,
dave

I am trying both protocols, but it looks like the site is down now.

Thanks Oleg. I just tried and the site is working fine. Make sure you try http://www.fednet.net/asx/mg/MG101306.asx in your normal browser if you think the site is down. This link has *always* worked in a normal browser for me.

Thanks again,
dave

It maybe strange, but I opened the URL in MS Media Player online and got exactly the same - sound and a black screen. Maybe the source has a problem?

Thanks for sticking with this one, Oleg. :)

Hmmm... I've never had that happen to me. Just to be clear, I'm using version 9.00.00.3349 of MS Media Player, and I'm opening URL "http://www.fednet.net/asx/mg/MG101306.asx". It plays fine every time for me. Which version of MS Media Player are you using? Please be sure to use the same URL I just typed above when you issue the "Open URL..." command in the media player.

Please let me know your version number and if you are able to open the URL above.

Thanks again for your help,
dave

Oleg,

This still isn't working for me. It works fine in my browser, but not in Offline Explorer. Any ideas?

Thanks,
dave

Well, I will keep working on this, but I am not sure if I will have any success.
