What is Error code=00000002?

Hi All,

I am trying to download a site. OE attempts to start the download, and stops after only one file is downloaded. The following message is in the Message Log Window:
Error reading from file: c:\download\https@www.webphotoschool.com\Lesson_Library\_0.99_Lessons\index.html.primary Error code=00000002
Does anyone know what is wrong?

The link loads well on my computer. Do you have enough free disk space and you can write files in the c:\download\ directory?

Hi Oleg,
The disk has plenty of space and the directory appears writeable.

I am able to view the page on the internal browser. I am, however, behind a firewall/proxy (which I have set up in OE) - not sure if this makes any difference. When I start the download, the directory structure (including the .WD3 file) gets set up in the downloads directory - but the .index (and other files from web site) do not get written and the whole download seems to abort.

Any other suggestions?

You can write and read any files in the download directory with other programs and without any problems?
You don`t have thousands of files in the directory (directory overload)?
This is strange...!?

Have you tried to change the download directory?

Create a new folder (Ctrl+Alt+N)
Folder download directory:
Check "Enable"
Change the path; I would recommend to choose even another partition (if you have more than 1 partition ;-)
d:\download\test
Create a new project in this directory (or move the project to this directory)

Does this work?

If not, you could try to disable some programs, which are running in the background (i.e. AntiVirus-programs, ...)

The directory is clean (nothing in it) and is writeable from other apps. I tried disabling all background programs - no luck either. I also tried creating a new download directory - still no luck. I only hava a single partition :(

BTW - my system is a very clean XP system. The OS was just loaded last week and should not have a bunch of "extra features" associated with it...

Do you get this error message by starting any of your projects?
If it`s only this project, which doesn`t work, you could let us know your projects settings:
Select the Project, click on the Copy button. Paste the Project setting in a new message.

I don`t have much more crazy ideas in order to fix the problem!? ;-)
Perhaps: Scandisk; cleaning the Temp directory, installing the current beta, ....
But I guess, something else is causing this problem...

Could you also enable the detailed logging (uncheck Pause in the Log Window) and let me know the whole log of this file download?

It looks like it could be a problem with HTTPS protocol - I do not see that Offline Explorer receives bytes in the log. Can you please see if you have enabled "Download progress" in the Filters submenu of the Log Window menu?

Oleg - the only thing that showed up in the log file was:

Oleg- my previous post (one line error message) was all that got logged with all items checked. It seems like less information is logged with the OE version you suggested I use.

I just released 3.4 SR1 version. I made one change in HTTPS protocol there, which may help. However I am not sure about this. Can you please try it?

My computer is the only one it is installed on at work, I`ll try it on another. I was successful loading the pages from my home computer. The main difference is that my home machine is not operating through a proxy server. Also, my work firewall is most likely more sophisticated than my home firewall. Thanks for trying...
