Hello there, probably this question has been answered before? I tried looking through the older information on the forum, but surprisingly I see nothing?
How do I stop/finalize/save part of a live feed from say for example a radio station?
An example is :
http://www.kalw.org/kalw_stream.ram

Everytime I try to finalize it (after it has downloaded for say 5 minutes) , it never saves any file?
Can anyone please reply.

cheers,
a

To save partially downloaded file, you need to right-click the file that is being downloaded in the Connections Panel (line with RTSP0:...) and select Finalize. If you already tried this, please go to the Project Map and find an rtsp:// server there to browse to the exact file and open it.

Does this help?

Hello there, thanks for taking the time to reply!
As you`ve already guessed, no finalize does not work , because it never saves the file anywhere on the hard disk.
I also tried the Project Map thing that you suggested, but there are no files over there either.
By the way, I see that this feature has been there since version 2.7? And I am surprised that no one thought of pointing this out and getting it corrected :)
Just so you know, the reason I wanted to do this was to save some radio programs that play in the middle of the night when I am not awake.
Hopefully you can think of some solution?
cheers,

This feature works well and I am using it myself quite often. Especially when testing user downloads I let Offline Explorer Pro to load few minutes and Finalize the download and I haven`t noticed problems yet.

Can you send me few links that cannot be finalized? I will test them - maybe Offline Explorer Pro fails somehow on them.

Thank you!

Oleg.

I am sorry - you already gave an example in the top of this topic. I will test it and let you know what I find.

I just tested the link and it downloads and saves properly. Please try to find the file in the Map under the rtsp://rmbcast.kalw-us1w.speedera.net Web site.
