I`m under Windows XP SP2. The Net Activity Diagram is the latest version I downloaded from your site: Version 2.2 Build 272.
Once installed everything work fine except that in the menu "Active connection" there is nothing listed, everything is greyed and of course no connection. And yes I`m connected to the net ;) and I have two others programs like yours running that display my activity correctly except your program. :(
I use a broadband ADSL connection.
However in the menu "Filtering" the line "Network adapter" only display:
`All adapters`
`connexion 1394`
But my ADSL connection is not listed!! Why? Here is the question. And the 1394 one I don`t use that, it is active, I suppose it is needed but it does not allow me to connect on the net.
Yes I rebooted, yes I closed my others monitoring programs. Even when there is no program launched and only NAD running and connected on the net, my ADSL connection still not appear in the `active connections". I tried to deconnect and reconnect, same.
The first time ever I got a problem with an internet program so easy to use.
Thanks for any info.
Regards,
Dominique.
Thank you for writing us.
Which setting do you use in the Net Activity Diagram Settings dialog, Statistics page, "Statistics engine" parameter?

Hi,
Thanks for the tip ! I was using the "Smart Filtering System" and when I saw your question I tried to use the other one "Standard" and now I have an activity monitored AND my ADSL connection is at last listed "WAN(PPP/SLIP) Interface". :)
However the "active connections" is greyed, is it normal?
Usually if I got a problem I play with one parameter and only one to see what happens and so on until solving the problem but there I didn`t even think that option could be the problem.
So the problem is now fixed but why can`t I use the "Smart Filtering System" and do you have a solution to do so? I tried to enable this function again but my ADSL connection disappear. I don`t understand why, to bad as this option is so great!!! Being able to see what nntp or e-mail takes
For general information, I see by default the "Save diagram statistics to folder" is set to 5 min. What size can we expect in Kb or Mb if we monitor 24h/24h all day long? Are the data compressed? I intend to put the value on 1 min to be as exact as possible but I`m afraid to see the data files becoming too big. So can we calculate if before to make an approximation or must I wait 15 days to see what I get and then make my own approximations?
Thanks a lot for your fast answer, highly appreciated :)
Best Regards,
Dominique.

No, it isn`t. I will send you a separate message on this.

This size depends on how many diagrams and filters are configured, type and amount of network traffic, etc.
For example, the size of database containing information saved every minute, collected for 6 month on a computer in a small-sized switched network with average load is about 40Mb. Net Activity Diagram is configured with 5 diagrams and 10 filters.
It is better to make your own approximation.
Sincerely,
Alexander
