Monitoring Internet versus local subnet

I would find it very useful if I could monitor IP traffic from addresses not on the local subnet.

I have a LAN with several users and no really good way of monitoring Internet traffic by user, to allocate costs. TCP (or UDP etc) port level differentiation will not really cut it as there is a whole range of applications going over the Net - Web, SSL, FTP, POP3, SMTP, VPNs, messaging, others - and some of those also run on the local subnet.

Dear Craig,

Thank you for your feedback.
We plan to add this feature to the next shareware version of NAD.

Sincerely,
Alexander.

Thanks for that.

Can I ask if you have any ETA at all on this next version?

Dear Graig,

We didn`t have this feature in our plans.
I added it to the NAD development list, thank you for your suggestion.

Sincerely,
Alexander.

Funny. Do you know that ETA means "estimated time of arrival." ?? He isn`t requesting anything, he wants to know, when will it be available :))

But anyways, I want to request also possibility for some "exception list" which won`t have traffic monitored. I am on local network and we have internet connection shared for this local network. I want to monitor my traffic to internet but not my traffic when I`m copying something to another machine on local network. So I need some exception list for local adresses (for ex. 192.168.*.*) which won`t be counted to averall traffic.

Acronym Finder knows 34 meanings of ETA abbreviation :-)

We were talking about local/Internet traffic differentiation feature before. We added this feature to the program development list.

Yes, I see, thank you. We have this feature in our plans.
We plan to release the first beta version of new release in the end of year.

Sincerely,
Alexander.
