Hi! I wanted to create some snapshots from old pages saved in web.archive.org and detected that Inquiry seems not to be able to save these:
e.g.
http://web.archive.org/web/20001201061500/http://www.spiegel.de/
I tried it with different pages saved on web.archive.org and none gets saved.
Please look into this.
Thx
Stefan
Please forget this report. I just found out that Inquiry doesn`t show any of the saved pages at this moment on my system and all I get is:
MS Internet Explorer integration was broken. Please restart Inquiry. If this doesn`t help, you may not have enough user rights to allow Inquiry to restore integration.
Stefan
Usually rebooting your computer helps in such case. Does it work now?

I rebooted my computer, but it still doesn`t work. I have no idea what causes this problem. Any tips you can give ?
Thx
Stefan
Can you try this version:
http://www.metaproducts.com/download/betas/iqsetup.exe
?
Oleg.
Yes, that version solved the error. However I can now actually report that iniquiry does not save the complete pages from web.archive.org:
e.g.
http://web.archive.org/web/20001201061500/http://www.spiegel.de/
The html gets saved, but none of the images. Can you please look into this ?
Thank you
Stefan
We worked on that and the version you downloaded should save these pages. Can you please recheck this?
Oleg.
It actually doesn`t work with the new version:
When I call up a page it looks like this:
http://www.supportandhelp.com/silke/focus1.jpg
then I save it in Inquiry, close Inquiry and start it up again.
When I now load the page from the Inquiry archive it looks like this:
http://www.supportandhelp.com/silke/focus1.jpg
Please let me know if you can reconstruct this behaviour.
Thx
Stefan
My version saves that page correctly. Can you check which version do you have? (In the About dialog).
Oleg.
It is version 1.2.183 beta
I just experienced, that the problem might be even more complicated, if I switch between different saved pages in Inquiry, it will eventually show me the complete page (including pictures) for the web.archive.org saved pages, but not in a way that I can reproduce at the moment. All non web.archive.org saved pages are always showing all content, only the web.archive.org ones are showing this very strange behaviour. When I export these web.archie.org pages the in the resulting export there are all files that I was shown in the first place.
Stefan
I have the same version. OK. We will experiment more with this site. As far as I remember, it uses complex scripts that modify the page links on the fly. This could be the reason why it works this way.
Oleg.
If I can be of any help let me know. Would be happy to help you to iron out any problems in this very promising product.
