I have downloaded 99 percent of a big file 640MB and Download Express has stopped and will not get the final 1 percent. I got it thru mobile metered access which is costing me too. I tried pausing and resuming because it had resume support but it just says connected to host ........... waiting.

I do not want to download it all over again. With files this size reliability in the download process is vital, absolutely vital.

Al,

Thank you for writing us.
Please find the downloaded file and remove the .DE file extension from the file name. I think the file will be completely downloaded. Th problem seems to be in the calculation of the downloaded bytes.

Please write me about the result. Thank you.

Facing a similar problem, albeit with a 2.5 gb file. Downloading stopped at 99 percent. So, when it's struck at 99 percent, do we just click close, and go manually show the file extension on the file name and rename the file without the .DE?

Richard,

Yes, lease remove the .DE extension.
Unfortunately, this problem happens sometimes. We will do our best to fix it in th next version of Download Express.

Yes, I tried to close it and remove the .DE file extension. Unfortunately, the file could not be opened and the file size has some sort of error. It showed up as 200mb file size, instead of a 2.5gb file, after clicking the "close" button.

To be specific, I was downloading the game demo for Settlers 7 at URL: http://www.bigdownload.com/games/the-settlers-7-paths-to-a-kingdom/pc/the-settlers-7-demo/
which I took over 2 hours for each attempt. I tried numerous attempts to download the same file.

To add on, I tried to download the same file numerous times and in the end, I still couldn't get to play the settlers 7 game demo, as i still couldn't successfully download the file. You could have imagined how irritating, waste of time and bandwidth it was just to download that file.

In essence, I hope your team can solve the problems with the download express, as it reflects upon the performance on your company's mass downloader. Keep us posted, all the best and thank you very much. =]

Richard,

Thank you for your feedback.
Did you try to re-start this download after it shows 99%? This may explain the strange 200 Mb size.

Alexander

Hi,

Yes, I tried to re-start the download, but it just restarted downloading the whole 2.5gb file from 0%. =[
