I''m Download Express user & I''ve downloaded recently a version which has I guess a new feature which shows "reserving disk space" before starting a thread. I don''t think it is working correctly because I''ve downloaded some files with one or two download threads only and the rest were showing that message.
Could you please tell me why is that?
I have a suggestion too if I may: please update the history page and Download Express version because the latest version still says 1.9:
http://www.metaproducts.com/mp/MetaProducts_Download_Express-History.htm
because it is saying that the last version was in 2007.
Thanks for developing & for improving this good download manager.
We plan to update Download Express soon.

There should be 7 threads shown and each should be downloading but only these 2 show. If I restart the first thread, it''ll start downloading but no I cannot start any more than that 1 thread.
> It works properly. When the first thread is writing data to the file from the beginning there is no need to reserve disk space. But when the second or further thread writes data rather far from beginning of the file, it is necessary to wait for reserving disk space. Otherwise Windows does not allow to write data and the application hangs.

I had the same issue or problem in that my download had only one download thread (http0) working and five others (http1-5) showing this "reserving disk space" message. After a few minutes I tried right clicking on each suspended thread and selected Restart from the context popup menu. That seemed to work as the full 6-thread download kicked into gear. This occurred when downloading a free DivX movie at http://films.0x7.net/www.web-hack.ru/swordfish.avi

Thank you for writing us.
What is the size of the downloading file? How long does Download Express show this message for each thread?
Program may show this message when you start downloading huge files. After some time, when the reserving is over, it will return back to the usual processing.

Thank you response.
Yes... DE "suspended" message (sometimes) only, if (>200... 300 MB) size file download.
Then, this is DE "suspended" message is normal, if download the big size file?
If manual forced, the starting, suspended http pipeline, then download usually ready.
Please clikk the follow link, i'm created screenshot, the DE activity:

(if click on images, the imagesize resize is normal)

Could you please make the log file?
To make the downloading log please download the logging.zip file from:
http://www.metaproducts.com/download/logging.zip
Unzip and open the "logging.reg" file from this archive. This will import necessary settings to the Download Express Registry entry.
Start your download. Download Express will create the log file in the downloading folder. It will have the same name as the downloading file and the .LOG extension. When the problem repeats, please find the
corresponding log file, pack it using WinZip or similar application and email it to support@metaproducts.com with the short description of the problem.
Then you can use "Nologging.reg" file to switch the logging feature off.
Thank you for your help!
