download speed

hello)) when im downloading a large file which is about 2-3 Gig after couple hours of downloading, speed go down..but if i restart my computer and resume download thet the speed is high again , but download starts not from the same place...it starts from at least half way back... so i wanna know if there is any option i can stop download at some point...a nd resume it from there again after restarting my computer..Thank you )) And just is case if you understand russuan, there is the same question in russian ))): esli ya zagruzhau bol`shoj fale to snachala skorost` zakachi vysokaya ,,no cherez nekotoroe vremya ona sil`no ponizhaetsya...no esli ya delayu restart computera i nachinau zagruzhat` etot file opyat` to skorost` opyat` vyisokaya no zagruzka ne nachinaetsya s togo zhe mesta na kakom ya ostanovila ee... ona nachinaeetsya gde-to s serediny togo chto uzhe zakachalos` t. e. zakachivaet eto opat` po vtoromu razu((..esli vy mozhete mne podskazat` kak mozhno zakachivat` s togo zhe mesta posle restarta komputera...spasibo

I have the same problem.
Start a DL (DE7.1) say 20+ meg and 10 to 15 minutes into it the speed drops from 100+- to 2+- kBytes/sec (eg. 1 hour 20 minutes... to 48 hours 56 minutes). It`s frustrating to reset the computer and resume to get speed back up again... several times to DL one file... And it`s not one site or program.... they ALL do the same thing.

Thank you for writing us.
Please try the following:

1. Open the Download Express Options dialog, Connection page
2. Set the first parameter to 20, the second one to 45-60 seconds
3. Click the OK button

Then please test your downloads and write us about the result.

I have the same problem and tried the above solution. The speed DID NOT get better!
