Mixed status for transfer threads

Hello,

I use Dowload Express v1.4.0.193 under IE5.5 SP2.

Nine out of ten times when downloading with multiple threads, after the download process is finished, under the Progress tab, some of the threads will receice a status other than "Download complete", as follows:

Read Transaction complete

Aborted

Download complete. Status: 206 Partial Content.

And usually I will see "Connecting to xxx.xxx.xxx" pop up for a thread while that thread is downloading. Sometimes I see it several times for the same thread. Is that re-download? If so, the re-downloads are too often.

Sometimes, though rarely, the downloaded file may be broken, such as a broken zip indicated by Winzip at opening.

Despite the above abnormality regarding mixed thread status, the downloaded file is usually good, as compared with a copy of the same file downloaded with IE`s own downloader.

In the old Download Express v1.3 build 119, I did not see the problem I`m reporting about.

Here is a download link that produces mixed thread status:

http://dl.winsite.com/files/425/ar2/win95/miscutil/PC_DocSetup.EXE (2.37 MB)

Regards,

David

It is OK. Each thread may have several conditions on download completion and it displays them in the progress view line.

When thread has finished its task it looks for other task. If it finds the other thread with the big task it helps to it. So, each new connect means the requesting of the new portion of file from the server.

Please contact us (support@metaproducts.com) if you have such problems. We will give you the information for downloading log creation. This will help us to find the cause of the problem, if it is related with Download Express, and fix it.

Thank you for your help.
