Mass Downloader does not seem to download many exe, zip files etc, is there any tricks to have it intergrate properly? Gets an error message "cannot read from the source file or disk".

Under options when I check Opera & then ok, the message "close all windows" appears after that it displays the error message.

Dear Paul,

This means that your Mass Downloader isn`t installed properly. Could you please re-install Mass Downloader? You may do this over the existing installation. Then please repeat your test with Opera integration.
Please write us about the result. Thank you!

I reinstalled sr1 over itself but it did not help. When I unchecked the Opera option and pressed "apply" the message reapeared the same when I tryed to reintegrate Opera again.

Dear Paul,

Thank you.
Could you please take a look if there is "npmassdn.dll" file in Mass Downloader disk folder?

Yes there is.

Dear Paul,

Thank you. Unfortunately, we cannot reproduce this problem at our test systems.
But we are still working to find the cause of this problem and fix it.

Thank you.

I also have a bug with this function:
Checked opera integration, with netscape and netcaptor integrations along with IE integration. As a result, IE was no more able to download any exe or zip file, and mass downloader begun the download before download speeds fell and download stops. In MS knowledge base, they adviced deleteing entries in local_machine_Internet explorer_plugins_extentions
when done all worked, they were .exe and .zip and .ie5 entries linked to opera via massdownloader
When I unchecked all in massdownloader, I recovered my downloads in IE and massdownloader

I had the exact same problem. Here`s how to fix it:
Open Opera and click Preferences in the File menu.
Select File Types on the left and deselect Hide file types opened with Opera.
In the quick find box enter "exe" (without quotes) and select "application/x-msdownload" then click Edit.
Select Use plug-in down the bottom and choose MassDownloader Opera Plug-in.
Do the same for other file types like zip, etc.
Also make sure browser integration is enable for Opera in Mass Downloader.

Many many thanks, it helped just as intended, should you work with metaproducts developers? :-)

Well Have another issue now: speed on some files
On this url for example:
http://www.vso-software.fr/download.htm you have at first of page:

BlindWrite 5 - Details
(Version 5.0.5 - Released 15th of December 2003 - 2.5 Mb)

Link 0 | Link 1 | Link 2 | Previous version 5 | Old V4.57

Click link 1, download starts, only 1.1 kb comes and speed drops till stops. Happens with many files like this, but not all links give this issue
jonny_ftm 12/16/2003 07:56 am
And it`s always 1.1kb downloaded even with other links

The same error appears in the newly released Opera 7.50. Even if the hooker .dll loads and shows "file is downloaded with Mass Downloader" message, Mass Downloader doesn`t seem to accept the information and start downloading.
Alexander 12/22/2003 09:18 am
Dear RaynerApe,

Thank you for informing us.
We will check the integration with Opera 7.50.

Had to install a previous image of c drive and found that Mass Downloader started to work again on some of the more common file types, but only after following Frank Newman`s suggestion.

Still get the same error messages when trying to integrate it using the Mass Downloader options.
Alexander 12/24/2003 10:34 am
Dear Paul,

Thank you for the information.
We are fixing this problem for Opera 7.50 version.
The new fixed build of Mass Downloader should work with all existing versions of this browser.

I would love to have the same options on Opera that I get with Internet Explorer when using the right click menu on a page.
The "Download All using Mass Downloader" option is fantastic. Can it be implemented in Opera?
I was able to add an entry for Getright to the Opera context menu.

I just need the right parameter/s to put after:
C:\Program Files\Mass Downloader\massdown.exe , %?

Can someone please help me?
Alexander 02/23/2004 03:47 am
Dear Dust_bunny,

Thank you for writing us.
We plan to add the "Download All using Mass Downloader" option to Mass Downloader 2.7 version.
