mdhelper.dll

I test drove Mass Downloader and it did not meet my needs. I uninstalled it, but it left behind two dlls in its folder. One DLL is mdhelper.dll and it cannot be deleted because it is seen as "in use". Checked the registry and there is an entry for it.

Why, why, why...

Dear Nonya,

Thank you for writing us.
It is integration DLL and system locks it. Mass Downloader uninstaller placed it to the list of files system should remove on reboot. Please reboot your Windows and write us aboput the result.
Thank you.

I have the same problem, I have already restarted my computer many times, but each time I try to delete this file, I fail because it is in use.

Dear Angel,

Please try the following:
1. Install the latest version of Mass Downloader, then reboot your Windows
2. Uninstall Mass Downloader and reboot it again

Mass Downloader will add this dll name to the Windows remove-on-boot list and Windows will remove it.
Please write us about the result. Thank you.

No

Dear Paul,

Thank you for this information.
We improved this file removing in Mass Downloader 2.6 SR version.

However, if the system doesn't allow to remove mdhelper.dll even after reboot (the correct Mass Downloader uninstallation should remove this file automatically after reboot), please try to unregister this dll using RESVR32.EXE program. It can be found in Windows - System or System32 folder. Please run the following command in the Mass Downloader folder: REGSVR32 mdhelper.dll /u

REGSVR32.exe should report dll server unregistration. Then please reboot your Windows and erase mdhelper.dll.

Thanks,
Alexander

It is a useless program...
Try this rename file then cut & paste elsewhere, then retry

Just delete that entry from your registry and when you reboot the computer you`ll be able to delete the file. If you still still can`t delete the DLL file, search the registry for other references to that file and remove those entries.

Hi,
As soon as you start Mass downloader the mdhelper.dll file will locate in the IE Plugins. It still locates here even after you terminate this application (in the form MDhelper module- IE catcher Class). We think we could not terminate the concerned process before removing the MDhelper module from IE plugins , because it is in use ( in IE Plugins ) . To delete mdhelper.dll file easily, we think we should remove MDhelper module in IE Plugins advance, after that uninstalling software and rebooting?? Is it alright
Thanks for your recommendation

Dear PXMMRF,

Yes. The uninstallation of Mass Downloader unregisters this module. If any copy of IE (or Active Desktop) is running during the uninstallation process, the system doesn`t allow to erase this DLL. So, Mass Downloader asks system to erase this file on the next reboot. This is the recommended by Microsoft way to fix the issue of removing of locked by system files.

I`v been trying this software, but it is sometimes not compatible with the explorer.exe, because it always cause a explorer.exe hang error, the error is as follows:

I much appreciate this software, but the mdhelper.dll is incompatilbe with explorer.exe and sometime with iexplorer.exe, and many users complains about it, then have uninstall it with many problems such as difficulties in deleting the directory etc al, or maybe it is a bug. You`d better fix it in further release asap. thanx!
