I downloaded (a still unregistered version of) Links Organizer 1.6 and tried it on two separate computers, 1 laptop and 1 desktop, with unfortunately the same results. Links Organizer can`t locate any Opera bookmarks. I am wondering why that is so. Has the format of the Opera bookmarks recently changed? How does Links Organizer locate the Opera bookmarks? Through some registry key/value perhaps?
The product looks very impressive, and the fact that it can work with both IE and Opera bookmarks was a strong selling point for me. Unfortunately, I can`t get it to work.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I don`t know if it works for Ilias...
The problem still exists here, but this should fix the problem until MP releases a new version:
It seems like LO doesn`t detect all of the Opera registry entrys ("Last Directory3").
Here is a workaround for Opera 7.54:
Open notepad, write:
___________________________________________
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Opera Software]
"Last Directory2"="C:\\Program Files\\Opera7"
___________________________________________
(Change the above path to Opera to _your_ Opera install-directory!)
Save the file as opera.reg and import it (double-click on the saved opera.reg).
Of course, you can make the same changes with regedit.
Something that doesn`t work:
"Description allows you to write additional comments about the link."
(Properties dialog; neither with "DESCRIPTION=" nor without "DESCRIPTION=")
And another issue (menu):
Help... Contents (F1)
doesn`t work too.
(The context help is o.k.!)

Thank you!
Oleg.
As i said above, it doesn`t work (LO 1.7.117).
You missed one thing:
It only works if you have checked "Individual Opera profiles for each user on this computer".
For example: You can start Opera with any ini file (and therefor with any link to the bookmark file in opera6.ini: "Hot List File Ver2="):
"opera.exe /settings c:\opera6.ini"
My suggestion:
File... Import... Opera bookmarks... (*.adr)
(Give the user the hint how he can find his bookmark path (in Opera): Help... About Opera... Paths... Bookmarks...)
Let the user the opportunity to import multiple Opera Hotlists (and let him choose any name for them in LO; not only "Opera 7.x Hotlist").
BTW, I found some more bugs:
- Click on Opera7.x Hotlist; Right-click... Add folder... (doesn`t work)
- If you drag any Opera folder on "Opera7.x Hotlist" it gets listed at the bottom of the bookmark list. But in fact, this folder will be deleted (try F5)!
- The characters aren`t encoded in UTF-8 format.
Oleg.
Here is the updated lo.exe file:

Oleg.
Thank you!
>> - Click on Opera7.x Hotlist; Right-click... Add folder... (doesn`t work)
> I have just fixed the addition of an Opera folder
I`m sorry, but now I get a "List index out of bounds".
You will get the same error if you try this:
Add a bookmark in the root directory of the Opera Hotlist.
Then try to rename this last added bookmark in LO.
> and now Opera hotlists should be detected correctly.
Yes, good work!
(Although I hope that the additional manual import of multiple Hotlists is still in your plans.)
One more sugggestion:
Please let LO sort the folders in the left tree by name not by ID.
http://www.metaproducts.com/download/betas/lo123.zip
I added the tree sorting to the plans.
Oleg.
Hmm... maybe it`s not totally fixed.
> Add a bookmark in the root directory of the Opera Hotlist.

This seems to be fixed.
>>> - Click on Opera7.x Hotlist; Right-click... Add folder... (doesn`t work)

This error still exists if you try do do that with a fresh Hotlist (that LO didn`t modified before).
It works if you first move a folder to any other place in LO.
> - If you drag any Opera folder on "Opera7.x Hotlist" it gets listed at the bottom of the bookmark

After some first tests: it`s working correctly now. :-)
> I added the tree sorting to the plans.
Thank you, that`s fine.
Have a nice weekend!

Can you please tell me once more in details on how this can be reproduced?
Oleg.
I`m doing my tests with a "fresh" Opera Hotlist.
- Close LO
- Save your Opera folder and/or your important Opera files (*.adr, *.ini ...) (it`s just a note for
the more inexperienced users, which are reading this message)
- Uninstall Opera and delete all *.adr files
- Reinstall Opera. Now you should have a fresh opera6.adr (20.724 Bytes).
- Save this opera6.adr for further tests.
- Start LO
- Click on Opera 7.x Hotlists (right beside the red Opera icon)
- Right-Click
- Add Folder...
- Click "OK"
Bang! "List index out of bounds ..."
- (move any folder to another place, for example:) drag-and-drop the last folder
"Computer Hardware" on "Opera 7.x Hotlists"
- Click on Opera 7.x Hotlists (right beside the red Opera icon)
- Right-Click
- Add Folder...
- Click "OK"
From now on: ... No more "List index out of bounds ..."
The updated file is here:

Oleg.
O.K.; Thank you!
