MP4 file format saving problem

Encountered with the problem of capturing mp4-format video files from YouTube
Looks like Flash and Media Capture can't determine the original file size, so the file download does not end. It just keeps writing that the file is "downloading", though the video has actually already been downloaded.
If trying to save such file, it downloads in full size, but is not playing (looks corrupted). And if trying to convert this saved file, the ffmpeg.exe crashes.
Also this files cannot be played in the Save window

At the same time there is no problem with capturing files with flv original format from Youtube

IE 9.0.8112 - 32X
Windows 7 - 64X
Flash & Media Capture 2.2.240

Hello Alexander!

Can you please describe your actions with Youtube video step by step? I cannot reproduce the problem.

Well I suppose it is likely some local configuration problem rather then a global one.
I've made some screenshots to make the situation more understable.

So we go to Youtube site and choose a video with mp4 original format to save. I use the "Video cache" dialogue for saving video files mainly. So the video it starts playing and downloading as it can be seen both on Youtube itself and in Video cache dialogue.

Then the video is already downloaded as it can be seen in the Youtube player, but the program still writes that the file is "downloading". Though from now on it size will remain 90,5 Mb as shown on the screenshot and seems like it is exactly the full size of the downloaded video file.

So then I try to download the file using the Files download dialogue:

As the file is shown as not fully downloaded, it begins to re-download it (on this screenshot there is another copy of this download but I deleted it then for the sake of experiment ))) ):

So at last we get a dowloaded file

But when we go to destination folder and take a look at it, it's not playing and looks like damaged unlike the files downloaded earlier

Yes, I see it now and I will try to resolve this.
Thank you for the info.

Hi,

I cannot fix it. This video is encoded with newest or nonstandard codec. You can upgrade K-Lite codecs pack and it will played in MPC, but only video, without any audio.
But you can turn youtube in the html5 mode from http://www.youtube.com/html5 page and html5 video is downloaded and played without problem.
