AD2.6 don't works at MS Office 2000 and 2007

I'm using AD 2.6.168 SR1 with Windows XP HomeEdition SP3 Version 2002. I can use AD in the dialogs of all programms without MS Office (both MS-Office 2000 on my desktop-pc and MS-Office 2007 on my laptop). When I want to change the folder by using AD in the file-open or save-as-Dialog in any MS-office-application (both by hotkey or by the icon in the right above corner) the dialoge closes immediately without saving or opening any file. The previous version (2.4.) worked correctly with office 2000 but not with office 2007.

This bug appears after installing AD Version 2.5.158. It remains after reinstalling AD Version 2.4. and also after installing AD Version 2.6.168

Who can help me?

Can you try to change the Properties - AutoDialogs Caption Button tab - "Use new caption button style" box?

Would it help?

I'm having a similar issue, I think.

But it seems to me that AD sometimes stops working, possibly due to my laptop going into hibernation(?).
So far, restarting AD or toggling the "Use new caption button style" feature off and on, will make it show up in Office 2007 file dialogs again.

I assume that the problem is that the AutoDialogs caption button disappears?

I examined the code and looks like it should not do such effect (changing the style to old and back).

Can I ask you to make a test - when it stops working, open the Properties dialog and click OK without changing anything there. Would this restore AutoDialogs working?

Thank you!

Oleg.

Hi.

Yes, opening Preferences and clicking OK makes the AD icon show itself where it previously failed to do so.
I haven't found a pattern as to when it works and when it doesn't. It seems a bit random, i.e. it can show up in one dialog window, yet fail to show in another.

Sometimes, but not always, it shows itself if I click in the header area where it should be located.

Yes, that's correct. Very often the AutoDialog button is not displayed as expected. So far I have used the "New Style" toggle to get it working again.

I'll try your test, the next time it happens. Which will probably be pretty soon, unfortunately.

Can you please try this version:

http://www.metaproducts.com/download/betas/ADSETUP.EXE

Please let me know if it fixes the issue after hibernation. Thank you!

Hello, Oleg.

The new version seems to have solved the problem completely.

I'll get back to you, should it resurface.

Hi, Oleg

I've been running AD 2.6.168 SR1 under two licences - one on my desktop (WinXP SP3) and the other on my netbook (Win7 Starter). The desktop version works fine in all environments. But on my netbook I have similar problems to others -- the caption button not appearing, or only appearing after I change AD's properties in some way. And the "recently used" menu isn't always being updated with new folders.

I've installed 2.6.171 SR2 on the netbook, biut it doesn't seem to solve the problem. AD doesn't work at all in MS Office 2007 applications, and only erratically in others.

Have you released any bug-fixes for these issues?

Mike

Do you have a 64-bit Windows 7 Starter or 32-bit?

Mike,

I am looking for Windows 7 Starter edition, but no such system is available for me so far to test.

Hi, Oleg

I presume that Win7 Starter is an OEM-only version for netbooks. Can you find someone who has a netbook with that OS on it? Sorry I can't help further...

Yes, this is true. I was unable to find a virtual machine file with this version either.

I will ask my friends for such netbook.
